Burberry Defines Autumnal London In Fall/Winter ‘24 Collection

I have an embarrassing confession to make. I thought Daniel Lee was Korean this entire time. Don’t laugh at me, okay? I’ve known that he’s been the Burberry designer for a minute now, but I never saw a picture of this man until I came across an article today that included a photo of him. Now that we have that shameful piece of information out of the way… The verdict is out on his most recent collection on London Fashion Week. And it’s safe to say… it was a smash hit! I’ll admit. I wasn’t a fan of his previous work. The “Burberry Blue” was an eyesore for me last year. I feel like the brand was losing it’s touch. It was screaming more L.A. than it’s British roots. But this season’s collect. THHIIISSS collection was not only the Burberry I remember and adore, but it also perfectly encapsulates everything London is. The moody and gloomy colors made me feel like I was in the rainy city itself. Many critics claimed this was his best work yet and I can’t disagree. There were a lot of olive green, headscarves, and comfortability. But what I thought was the most impressive was his ability to capture all the current trends without feeding into it.

Trench Coats

As I mentioned in a recent post, trench coats were absolutely everywhere this season. I knew it was a solidified trend when Sofia Richie showed up with a trench coat to the Tommy Hilfiger show at NYFW. Burberry did trench coats in the most Burberry way possible. The white one with flat round studs though?? Chef’s kiss.

Beige & Minimalism

Minimalism isn’t going away as long as the economy stays the way it is. Many designers incorporated this into their collection this season, but no one did it like Mr. Lee. The Burberry-esque plaid inside of the jackets was such a nice touch. Ruffles were a subtle trend this season (take a shot for every time I use the word trend) as we saw with brands like Tory Burch. Adding ruffles to the coat makes gives it such a cute feminine flare. I need that jacket immediately.

Leather

Although I don’t own a lot of leather myself, it’s a material that I know will never go out of style. Of course, Burberry did not disappoint us when it came to leather.

Fluffy Jackets

Whoever said “Fashion knows not of comfort” clearly didn’t know what they were talking about according to Lee’s latest collection. I love teddy jackets with the gold lobster clasps. Obsessed with this olive green jacket as well.

Fur Puffer Jacket

I’m not the biggest fan of the “mob wife” aesthetic, which I’m sure shocks absolutely no one. I wouldn’t be caught dead in one these, but I would be lying if I said these didn’t look comfortable af. Personally, I’d take a nap in one.
